Club Update
June 23, 2025
Hi everyone,
Please see below for an update with the club community program and competitive team schedules. This will not be as long update on the community side as I am trying to take the day off from work to catch up on emails, e-transfers, etc.. I apologize that I can’t answer emails immediately but work is extremely busy and it will sometimes be a couple of days before I can answer all the emails as there are numerous to go thru. Thank you for the patience.
Community program:
The registration links will close tomorrow at the end of the day and we will go thru all of the numbers at that time and get the under 9 teams settled for rosters and start to put together a game schedule for the summer. The under 7 numbers are still very low in certain areas, ie: Alberton could use more boys and girls, O’Leary does not have many girls at all, etc.. We will have to figure some things out but we will wait to see what the final registration count is at after tomorrow.
A couple of the communities are going to try and have a practice session this week.
Ellerslie under 9 boys & girls will train Tuesday, June 24 at 4:30 pm and the under 7 boys & girls will train at 5:30 pm (with the high humidex forecasted for tomorrow this session may or may not take place)
Tignish under 7 boys & girls as well as under 9 boys & girls will train Thursday, June 26 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm with everyone going at the same time. The hope is that with Shane (rec director), his summer students and our club students that we can run everything together.
If we get more community practices lined up, we will get those up on our website and I will try and have a much more detailed update for everyone in a couple of days.
Competitive teams:
Under 9 travel teams:
Thank you to all of the players who came out to the tryouts that we held and for the players giving it their all at each session. We saw so much heart, skill, and determination out on the field. Please know that these decisions were not easy, especially at this younger age level. Whether or not you made the roster this time, this is certainly not a reflection of your potential as a player. You are all growing, and with continued effort and passion, there’s no limit to what you can achieve. We strongly encourage you to keep working hard, training, and loving the game. We will be out to watch the under 9 community league and we can’t wait to see all the players playing this summer.
For the parents of the players who were chosen, please be aware that these teams are designed to give players a little bit of extra training and a chance to play a few games hopefully against other clubs across the island at a jamboree or two. It is in no way meant to replace the under 9 community program - quite the opposite - anyone who has been chosen for the under 9 travel team will need to commit to playing in the Under 9 community league with their individual teams.
We know that Stratford will be hosting their under 9 jamboree on Saturday, July 12 with a rain date of July 13. I am trying to find out if there is another jamboree planned at any of the other clubs across the Island. We will need parents to confirm that they will be available to attend on the 12th of July for Stratford (or 13th should it be rained out on the 12th). There is no “extra” registration fee to be a part of this program, the only extra costs will be whatever the portion of the tournament registration fee should be and we will check on uniforms. The program registration itself is $75 to be a part of the Under 9 community program.
