West Prince Storm Soccer Club
Competitive team update
May 24, 2025

Just wanted to send around some updates with regards to our competitive teams.  Final decisions have been made on the boy’s side.  We apologize for the delay but the competition level was extremely high and we wanted to have as many sessions as we could to allow the coaches time to get to know the players and choose their teams.

Please see below for an update on each age group (team rosters will be listed in alphabetical order)…

Very similar to the under 11 coaches, the coaches (Sara & Clay) have had an incredibly hard time in making final decisions with this team.  Truth be told we cannot keep more than 15 players and comfortably offer enough playing time.

However, that being said - for the players who were not chosen for the team, we wanted to offer a chance for them to continue to train and be an alternate if they wish to do so.  The fee would be minimal as we would just need to collect the insurance cost of the registration fee ($60) so the players would be covered for injuries.

Basically, anytime the team is missing a player, the coaches would call upon these players if any of them decided to come out and train with the team.  While we know this is not an ideal solution and may not be what you wish to do this summer, it is really the only option that we could come up with.  Truth be told, we could have had another 4 or 5 sessions and the list could have changed a little bit each and every time as the level of play was extremely impressive by every single player who was out but in the end a final decision had to made as the league does start next week.

I hope everyone will understand that all of our coaches (under 11, under 13, etc..) are volunteers who devote their time to try and help provide a soccer program for the youth of West Prince.  In the end, you may not agree with a decision on things such as team selection but I hope that you will be able to understand that things like this are the ABSOLUTE hardest part of coaching and is not taken lightly.

We will have another update hopefully on Sunday with a schedule for the upcoming week of any practices and games that might be taking place.
